           Parenting is one of the most rewarding—and exhausting—experiences in life. Between
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           juggling work, relationships, and your child’s constant needs, it’s easy to feel like there’s
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           nothing left to give. You may find yourself running on empty, questioning whether you’re
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           doing “enough,” or feeling guilty for wanting time alone.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many parents experience emotional burnout while
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           trying to keep it all together. The truth is: taking care of yourself isn’t selfish—it’s necessary.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           1. Acknowledge the Emotional Load
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Parenting doesn’t come with an off switch. From early mornings to late nights, your energy
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           is constantly being spent meeting others’ needs. It’s okay to admit when you’re tired or
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           struggling.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Saying “I’m overwhelmed” doesn’t make you weak—it shows emotional awareness. You
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           can’t pour from an empty cup, and recognizing that is the first step toward change.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           2. Redefine What Self-Care Really Means
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Self-care isn’t always bubble baths and vacations. Sometimes it’s about the small,
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           intentional choices that help you preserve your energy:
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Taking five minutes to breathe before responding to a meltdown
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Eating a meal without multitasking
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Saying “no” to one more obligation
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Scheduling your own therapy session
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Real self-care is about meeting your needs—not escaping them.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           3. Let Go of the “Perfect Parent” Myth
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Perfectionism can be a heavy burden. Social media often shows highlight reels of parenting,
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           making it easy to feel like everyone else has it together. But behind every smiling photo is a
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           parent who struggles too.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           It’s okay if your version of balance looks different. Maybe dinner is takeout tonight. Maybe

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           the laundry waits. That doesn’t make you a bad parent—it makes you human.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           4. Communicate What You Need
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Parenting can feel isolating when you try to do it all alone. Talk to your partner, friend, or
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           therapist about how you’re feeling.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Naming your emotions—“I’m exhausted,” “I need a break,” “I’m not okay today”—creates
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           space for others to support you.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           You deserve to be cared for, too.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;strong&gt;&#xD;
      
           5. Model Self-Compassion for Your Kids
          &#xD;
    &lt;/strong&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Your children learn by watching you. When they see you rest, set boundaries, or ask for
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           help, they learn that taking care of themselves is normal and healthy.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Showing yourself kindness teaches your kids that love and compassion start from within.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           So many times we try to distinguish what is love in our own space.

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Love can be more than physical.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Love can be intellectual, spiritual, or verbal.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            But it takes time to decipher it within ourselves.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Loving yourself can come with a time key that does not expire. That is okay.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

           Not fixating on a timeline helps to bring about change.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

            Ask yourself.

           How do I decipher love?

           Is it within me or am I looking for love in the wrong places?

It shows that you are listening to their words and reading their lips. You hear them. Having your head down or back turned makes the speaker believe you are uninterested in what they have to say.

  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;

           2. Listen without judging
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            -The person of a conversation when someone is speaking to you is to listen, not judge. If you are listening and thinking about how to reply you are not practicing active listening. At this point the speaker will assume you are judging. This is where the conversation can go left.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           3. Do not impose your opinions

            -Active listening is not judging as stated in tip 2. The speaker does not want your opinion during active listening. If the speaker does not say "what are your thoughts" they do not want it.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           4. Make eye contact
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            -When anyone is speaking it is best to make eye contact to show that you are listening. Engaging in your phone can make the speaker feel you are not fully listening to their thoughts.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;

           5. Do not interrupt
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

           - Listen, listen, listen. Do not speak over the person trying to get their thoughts out. Interruption shows you are not listening to understand but rather listening to reply. With that you miss the entire message.

  &lt;h5&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h5&gt;&#xD;

           Things do not happen overnight

            Learning something g new does not happen immediately. It takes practice. Work on active listening every chance you get in order to become a better active listener.

         Being independent does not mean you have to be single. It is possible to be independent in a relationship. Having control of your own thoughts, funds, and wellbeing is all independence. Having a reliable partner with the same independence can really strengthen a relationship if allowed.

          Is this Always Possible
         &#xD;

         Not everything in life is always possible. You have to look at the relationship from where you are as a couple. Figuring out what is best for you and your relationship. If things were always clear cut, there would be no need for therapy. There would be no need to build upon a foundation.

  &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
    
          Maintaining a Balance
         &#xD;
  &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

         Balance is important in a relationship. Having minimum time separate for family or friends outside of the relationship in order to come back together right where you left off is necessary for some. 
        &#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
    
          Happy Together
         &#xD;
  &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

         When you are happy, your relationship is happy. Finding things that you each like and bringing those things together can create a genuinely happy space.

          Lists are great ways to stay on track. Write down some big things you want to accomplish and some smaller things, too.

  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;b&gt;&#xD;
        
            Check the list Regularly
           &#xD;
      &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Don’t forget to check in and see how you’re doing. Just because you don’t achieve the big goals right away doesn’t mean you’re not making progress.

           Reward Yourself

          When you succeed in achieving a goal, be it a big one or a small one, make sure to pat yourself on the back.

    &lt;/b&gt;&#xD;

           Think Positively

          Positive thinking is a major factor in success. So instead of mulling over things that didn’t go quite right, remind yourself of things that did.

          can be breaking away from a bad habit that tears you down.

           Self love

          is having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness.

          Sometimes we often disregard self love for ourselves as we try to hold others up. We put our own true happiness to the side in order to be there for others. With that, we only break ourselves down more because we are not nurturing ourselves.

    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Putting yourself

            first

          comes with

          Mastering that technique and knowing that it is okay to put yourself first is a major leap towards
